Overview

Road authorities are continuously confronted by a shortage of suitable gravels for construction of base course layers.  Emulsion treatment of non-plastic, cohesionless, marginal materials have proven through the years to be a suitable alternative for premium grade granular materials.  In addition, existing bituminous pavements can be recycled by mixing the aged, fatigued surfacing layers with the existing base course materials and stabilizing it with diluted bitumen emulsion.
